A 20 minute eLearning activity about the different types of Buoys by British Canoeing This eLearning activity gives lots of information on buoyage by taking you through many different types of buoys. Once you’ve got all the information, it’s time to test your knowledge with one of our quizzes, either timed or not. Compare your results with your friends and try to beat their score!

Inclusive Club Resource E-learning

 

The British Canoeing Awarding Body Introduction to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion eLearning, which is FREE for the paddling community and awards 5 cpd points.
The module gives learners an insight into a range of topics, with interactive activities and resources throughout the module. Learners will also be signposted to further information about specific topics, such as LGBTQ+ inclusion and engaging more women and girlsScottish Disability Sport (SDS) has developed an eLearning course called Introduction to Inclusive Practice. This course is hosted on sportscotland’s virtual learning environment, Brightspace. The Introduction to Inclusive Practice eLearning is designed for everyone who would like to gain confidence working with participants with disabilities inclusively.

 

Throughout this module, learners will have the opportunity to carry out self-reflection, complete short quizzes and surveys, all of which will enable the creation of an action plan to further develop inclusion in all areas of clubs.

Introduction to Inclusive Practice

The module gives learners an insight into a range of topics, with interactive activities and resources throughout the module. Learners will also be signposted to further information about specific topics, such as LGBTQ+ inclusion and engaging more women and girlsScottish Disability Sport (SDS) has developed an eLearning course called Introduction to Inclusive Practice. We invite all coaches and deliverers of sport and physical activity with an interest in this area to enrol into the course. Simply provide your details via the enrolment survey. (https://forms.office.com/r/y4JPVajtPL)

New learners are enrolled into the course every Thursday afternoon and can undertake the learning in their own time. The module should take approximately 60 minutes to complete and can be completed in stages rather than all at once if you prefer. You will receive a completion certificate on successful completion of the course.

The course covers the following 6 units:

  • Introduction
  • Knowing your participants
  • Effective communication
  • AIM model and STEP framework
  • Challenges
  • Signposting

 

SDS also offer a 2-hour interactive face to face workshop delivered by an experienced Sport Educator for those who would like to explore the practical application of their learning.

If you are interested in accessing a 2-hour face to face practical workshop, you can note your interest with SDS here. SDS will contact you with dates for workshops being held in your area.

Introduction to Paddlesport

A Go Paddling eLearning that supports those just getting started in Paddlesport. This eLearning is the perfect introduction for those who are just getting started with Paddlesport. The eLearning goes through some key equipment, safety precautions and environmental factors that is key information for beginners. The eLearning gives a good overview on all these topics, whilst giving further links throughout, for paddlers who want to delve further into a topic. To top it all off, the activity contains three games, which are especially popular with younger paddlers.

SCA Mental Health and Wellbeing E-Learning Module

 

The British Canoeing Awarding Body Introduction to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion eLearning, which is FREE for the paddling community and awards 5 cpd points.
The module gives learners an insight into a range of topics, with interactive activities and resources throughout the module. Learners will also be signposted to further information about specific topics, such as LGBTQ+ inclusion and engaging more women and girls. 

The main aim of this e-learning module is to equip you with the tools and techniques to effectively support your participants and coaches. This module is NOT about training you to be a counsellor or therapist. It is about understanding what we mean by ‘mental health and wellbeing’, introducing some key language and how to signpost for help.

The elearning is FREE for the paddling community and awards 5 cpd points.
